Like it was Only Yesterday!

With Japan now officially reopened, the planning for the long-awaited return can finally commence!
To make things slightly easier, visitors will also no longer need to register on both the 'Visit Japan Web' site AND the MySOS app before travelling. Instead, everything will be consolidated into Fast Track, available on the 'Visit Japan Web' page.
In the meantime, November in Japan brings with it some huge news for Ghibli fans...

This month, we've got an exciting Ghibli-themed giveaway, a round up of what's hot in Japan for 2023, some inspiration for Kyoto trips, and our Postcards from Japan, pondering this month's theme of 'SUTEKI'.

Waaaah, suteki!
Made up of the Japanese characters for ‘elementary’ and ‘enemy’, you may at first think that this word has a negative meaning...

...however, ‘suteki’ means ‘wonderful’, ‘great’, ‘lovely’, ‘splendid’ - you get the picture!

It is said as a compliment, like when complimenting someone’s clothes or hair. It can also express a sense of wonder and amazement, like when you happen upon a breath-taking view of Mount Fuji at sunset or the cherry blossoms at their peak.

Add in the modifier 'na' and you can use 'suteki' as an adjective. Let's have a read of some 'suteki na' people for our Postcards from Japan!

Here's some of what we learnt this month:
1) There's nothing like soaking in an onsen after a long day of being on your feet ♨️🥾
2) With almost 1500 licensed road races, Japan really is a distance-running nation! 👟🏃‍♂️
