One step closer!

While full details are still to come, yesterday, Prime Minister Kishida announced that, from Sep 7th:
1) Pre-departure PCR tests would no longer be required for triple-vaccinated travellers
2) Regulations would be loosened to allow visitors to enter on non-escorted tours
This will likely still require a visa application and an itinerary supported by a travel agent or tour operator, but is a strong next step, nonetheless!
The Embassy of Japan in the UK is also currently reviewing its visa application process with updates due on Sept 2nd.

The great escape!
Let's face it, we all need a 'DATSUZOKU' every now and again, to shake things up a bit and keep us on our toes.

Made up of the Japanese characters 'escape from' and 'habit' or 'worldliness', it means 'a break from everyday routine' - something we look forward to every upcoming holiday or surprise day off!
It can also refer to 'a life unbound by convention' and being open to new perspectives and discovery.

So, feeling otherworldly? Come and step into the shoes of our Postcards guests!

Here's some of what we learnt this month:
1) The UK is definitely missing out by not having ‘genkans’ and being able to wear slippers at work 🏡🥾
2)  Learning just a few Japanese words and phrases makes all the difference when travelling off-the-beaten-path 🏝️💬
3) Even when the world seems to be at a standstill, amazing things can be born and set in motion 🌍

That’s it from us for this month!
