...you notice the leaves have started blushing, the weather is making you want to snuggle under a blanket, and the neighbour's window is flickering with the light from a pumpkin.
All of those things and more are expressed by - FŪBUTSUSHI 風物詩 - made up of the words for wind ('fū'), matter ('butsu'), poetry ('shi').
In October, the UK was faced with the prospect of another lockdown and the last chance to visit our local pubs or see our loved ones in person for a good while.
But with autumn in full swing, we've been joining friends in Japan to have a good look out the window, and get inspired by those FŪBUTSUSHI that help us focus on the beauty of the here and now, and process, commemorate and celebrate the passage of time.
Here are a couple of things we discovered together:
1) A Japan holiday-in-a-box is the present we're getting everyone this Christmas 🎁
2) Japan has 72 micro-seasons called 'kō', each lasting around 5 days 🌦️
3) Fizzy drinks and chocolate combined with maths puzzles are the secret to long life 🍫
